2.6 Masking layers
You’re halfway there! In this lesson, we’ll learn what masks are and how to use them in our designs. After this lesson, you’ll understand the differences between an outline mask and an alpha mask and know when to use each one.
Key learnings
An outline mask only shows parts of one or more layers that fall within its shape.
Alpha masks hide anything that falls outside of their shape. They also control the opacity of any layer they’re masking.
